Caritas Counseling

Sometimes life – and ministry – can become overwhelming. A professional can help you learn how to address your challenges and move toward recovery and healing.

Caritas Counseling, a ministry of Saint Luke Institute, is a Catholic organization providing psychological support and healing for priests, deacons, men and women religious and parishioners.

Individual therapy

One-on-one meeting with a professional therapist to explore individual needs, both short-term and more complex struggles. Issues may include anxiety and stress management, depression and mood disorders, relationships, boundaries, trauma, burnout, grief and loss or addictions.

Group therapy

Small group session facilitated by a therapist. This is especially effective for making behavioral changes.

Additional services for leadership

• Integrated psychological and spiritual assessments for applicants to the priesthood, religious life and permanent diaconate
• Education in human formation
• Consultationand expert guidance for diocesan, seminary and religious congregation leadership

We serve the Washington, DC and Baltimore metropolitan regions and are conveniently located on New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, Md., one mile inside the Washington, DC Beltway (I-495).

Services for clergy and religious also are available in the Louisville, Kentucky region through the Saint Luke Center.
